Julie Guesthouse is centrally located, only 5 minutes walk from the centre (Thapae gate).
Please show drivers of Tuk-Tuks or pick-ups this description of the route in Thai language if they don't know where we are located:
Insist on being dropped at Julie Guesthouse (there's only one in town!) as sometimes they try to bring your to their "brothers" or "sisters" guesthouse, try making you believel that Julie does not exist anymore, is very far away from the city, or just full. Telling that you already booked a room at Julie's will help.
Arriving in Chiang Mai from Bangkok by train:
The train station is about 2.5 km away from the center. Take a Tuk-Tuk or pick-up truck for around 60-70 Bath. Outside the main exit we might have our guy waiting with a Julie Guesthouse sign. If he's around, use the free lift.
By
bus from official northern bus-terminal (Mochit) in Bangkok:
The Arcade Bus-Terminal
in Chiang Mai is around 3 km away from the center. Take a tuk-tuk or pick-up truck for around 60-70 Bath.
By air:
The Chiang Mai International airport is about 4 km away from Julie's. Please take a taxi for 120 Baht or walk to the main road for about 300 m and take a tuk-tuk or pick-up
truck for about 80 Bath.
By cheaper private bus from Khao San road
You will
be dropped about 3 km outside of town and promised a free ride to a guesthouse,
usually not the one of your choice. Either take a tuk-tuk or a pick-up truck waiting
along the road for about 60 Bath or use the free ride and then take a tuk-tuk, pick-up truck or
walk to the guesthouse of your choice. We hope that your choice is Julie's!
